Which has a greater torque capacity Tc (new or old clutch)?

2- Single plate friction clutch has the following data:
- outer radius (ro) = 105 mm,

- inner radius (ri) = 65 mm,

- coefficient of friction (µ) = 0.3,

- spring force (Fn) = 3000 N,

- number of rivets = 16 rivet.

ASSUMING UNIFORM WEAR, Tc = n p µ pmax ri (ro2 – ri2)

calculate:

a) clutch torque capacity (Tc)
b) engine maximum torque (Te)

c) friction material maximum pressure (pmax)

d) if the shear strength of the rivets material (tu) is 85 MPa, the rivets cross section area (Arivet) = 5 mm2, and the safety factor (SF) is 3. Check if the number of rivets is enough to carry the clutch torque.

e) if the bolt area (Abolt) is 16 mm2, and number of bolts (nbolt) is 6 bolts find the bolts stress.
